Getting a taste of the hip hop music business at a very young age taught us that in order to be successful in it you have to have an independent mind, meaning you have to do more than just rap. If an opportunity doesn’t come it’s either 1 of 2 things, your not ready for that opportunity or you didn’t create your own opportunity. By building our band as well as our brand we created more room for greater opportunities. Being independent means that your business relies on you. We learned that being just a rapper was the easy part, that doesn’t mean you own what you rap just because you wrote it and performed it. The amount of time we put into writing and recording songs seems minuscule compared to the time invested in the business.
