3 4 da stripes is an independent rap group out of Boston MA. A very talented trio known for their 3 dimensional flow. Mixing up their music between hardcore hip-hop, hip- hop/r&b and their heart felt life tracks is a way to bring fans and listeners into the world of Threezup Music.
3 4 da stripes was created in 2002 by Yl da Grandchild and Lg da Monsta, who met in middle school but went to different high schools. Lg da Monsta met Ab da Hitman in high school where AB later joined the group.
Since then they have been an extraordinary trio and have been thru the best and worst of times together.
Yl comes from a hard childhood as he lost his mother at 12 years old and was raised by his grandmother. Lg
came from a home where his mom watched the kids and father worked and hustled drugs to provide. AB, being the youngest of nine children always wanted a better living for himself and his family. Witnessing the struggles of life at an early age gave him the drive and ambition to get where he is today. Coming from 3 different backgrounds but yet sharing similar experiences, together the 3 make up the famous rap trio 3 4 da stripes.Owning their own clothing line Threezup Apparel and music production company/entertainment company Threezup Music this groups only focus is creating their own lane. Self managed and self promoted its easy to see why they cannot be immitated. They are recognized by their community for being young entrepreneurs and philanthropist. Their love for music is deep, as they quoted, “Making hip hop music saved our lives, without it 9 times out of 10 we would already be dead.” Realizing their struggling background, they give back to community centers and other youth organizations by sponsoring events or donating t-shirts. 34ds most recent mixtape release ”Aint like these otha rappers” shows the raw talent of 3 artists who refuse to be titled ”just rappers”.
